Hospitals led Missouri employers in job postings over the second half of 2018, according to a statewide labor market analysis from the Missouri Economic & Research Information Center, or MERIC.
There were 266,173 new job postings in Missouri during the second half of 2018, MERIC reports. The leading industries for those postings were hospitals; restaurants, food and drink services; and insurance insurance companies.
Hospitals accounted for 20,530 job postings, driven by positions with employers such as Mercy Health Systems, BJC HealthCare, Hospital Corporation of America, Saint Luke’s Health System, SSM Health Care and Truman Medical Centers, MERIC reports.
The analysis also offers a glimpse of the top occupations for job postings over the second half of 2018. Leading the way were wholesales sales representatives, registered nurses, and retail salespeople.
