Digital Sandbox KC wrapped up 2018 by welcoming three new startups to its portfolio, the organization announced this week.
The “proof-of-concept” program is designed to help entrepreneurs commercialize early-stage business ideas.
The program’s three newest additions are:
- Üdo, an employee benefit platform designed to provide users the services of a personal assistant on-demand;
- Erkios Systems, which makes a security system for network hardware;
- Blockchain Water, a platform for water management using artificial intelligence and blockchain technology
Those startups are representative of the array of startups Digital Sandbox KC has worked with, according to Jeff Shackelford, executive director of Digital Sandbox KC.
“The range of concepts we continue to see presented to the Sandbox is incredible,” Shackelford said in a release.
Digital Sandbox KC is a collaboration between public, private, university and philanthropic organizations.
To date, it has worked with 111 projects, doling out more than $2 million in funding.
Those companies have raised $68 million in follow-on funding, according to Digital Sandbox, and created more than 600 jobs in the Kansas City area.
