A decade into her career, Jill Dudley found herself with a severance package and enough time to ponder her next move.
When Dudley was laid off from a job she loved, she knew she wanted to do her own thing. She decided to start a digital marketing business.
With the help of mentors, Dudley founded 34th Street Marketing and began working on the company full-time in early 2018. The Columbia-based agency specializes in marketing for small businesses and nonprofits.
Through it all, she has never feared failure.
“When it started, it was kind of a crazy idea,” Dudley said. “But I said, ‘Well, I’ve got another 30 years to really screw this up. And start another business and screw that one up. And start another one.’ I mean, who cares if you fail?'”
