Digital Sandbox KC, a program that provides funding and support to early-stage entrepreneurs in Kansas City, welcomed four new startups to its portfolio Monday, according to a press release.
The “proof-of-concept” program is designed to help entrepreneurs commercialize early-stage business ideas.
The announcement of new companies follows last week’s news that Digital Sandbox KC had received $950,000 in grants to continue its programming.
The program’s four new companies are:
- Case Helper, a communication platform for attorneys
- College Coaching Network, a mobile app that connects users to life-coaching services
- FastDemocracy, an online platform that delivers users information about current legislation
- PowerPlus IMPULSE Cleaning System, a company that makes boiler cleaning technology and was funded through Digital Sandbox KC’s “Energy Sandbox”
Digital Sandbox KC is a collaboration between public, private, university and philanthropic organizations. Since its founding in February 2013, it has contributed $1.9 million to 104 proof-of-concept projects, according to the release.
