St. Louis will get a professional football team when the XFL relaunches in 2020, St. Louis NBC affiliate KSDK reports, citing unnamed sources.
The league, owned by wrestling executive Vince McMahon, played one season in its first iteration back in 2001. It plans to restart in 2020 with teams in eight markets.
The St. Louis team will play 10 games in its inaugural season, hosting five of those at the Dome at America’s Center, formerly occupied by the Rams, KDSK reports.
The league is expected to announce all of the cities that will have teams sometime next week, according to KSDK.
