Kansas City convention hotel on track for spring 2020 opening



Executives from Loews Hotels , the developers of an 800-room convention hotel in downtown Kansas City, confirmed the project is on budget and on time to open in spring 2020.

However, they are not sure if the hotel will be complete for the Big 12 Conference basketball tournament in March of that year.

Jonathan Tisch, chairman and CEO of Loews, visited the construction site this week and told reporters it was too soon to tell if the 24-story hotel would be complete in time for the sporting event. He also acknowledged the company is aware of the situation and doing everything they can to make the date.
