Computer programming, developing and support occupations in Missouri employed over 84,000 people with an average wage of $78,690 in 2017, according to a recent report from the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center, and information technology jobs in the state are projected to grow by more than 18% between 2016 and 2026.
There were 49,000 online job ads related to IT occupations from March 2018 through February 2019 in Missouri, and most of them required different programming languages. SQL, Java, C# and Oracle topped the list of the most requested languages.
Out of the top requested programming languages, UNIX, Python, Java, and Oracle are the top paid skills in U.S., according to PayScale, a website that provides information about compensation.
