Missouri’s largest university has increased its enrollment edge over the state’s second-largest university for the fall semester, according to official figures released by the schools late last month.
The University of Missouri’s total enrollment this fall is 30,046 students. That’s an increase of about 2.2% from 29,407 last fall. Freshman enrollment at MU increased by 16%, marking the second straight year of double-digit percentage growth, according to a university news release.
Meanwhile, fall enrollment at Missouri State University dropped slightly after five years of gradual increases. Overall, 26,001 students enrolled at MSU this semester, according to a news release. That’s down about 3% compared with 26,812 in fall 2018.
