CHART: Where to get the most bang for your homebuying buck



Missouri ranks among the cheapest states for buying a house, according to a recent report from SmartAsset, a provider of personal finance data.

Missouri has the 10th-lowest median listing price per square foot, $122.22, according to the report.

That figure for Missouri is 31% lower than the national average, $177.35.

The District of Columbia has the highest median price, $546.96, while Mississippi has the lowest median price, $95.75.
