The American consumer is in a spending mood, if early holiday ecommerce figures are any indication.
The past week has included three of the biggest shopping days of the year: Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. All three days brought new records for online spending, according to Adobe Analytics.
Cyber Monday was the biggest of the three, with online retailers registering $9.4 billion in revenue, according to Adobe. That was up about 20% over last year.
The holiday shopping season as a whole is projected to break records this year, totaling $143.8 billion in ecommerce sales, up more than 14% over last year’s tally, according to Adobe. To date, retailers have recorded $81.5 billion in online sales.
