Mercy Looks to Build Springfield Hospital

Mercy plans to build a $27 million, 60-bed hospital near Springfield, according to Mercy health system officials.

Before construction can begin, the sixth-largest health care system will need approval from the state of Missouri. The group submitted the approval application to the state on Oct. 26, according to Mercy officials.

The Springfield News-Leader reports that the facility will be a rehabilitation hospital, and could break ground as early as March.
