AMC Entertainment Inc. is acquiring four theaters from Rave Reviews Cinemas LLC. The theaters have 61 digital screens, almost half of which can show in 3-D.
“We are pleased to add these four theaters to our quality fleet of locations,” AMC CEO Gerry Lopez said in the release. “This is a natural progression of business that we anticipated following our own acquisition by the Wanda Group. With this strategic acquisition, we are adding new markets to our footprint and serving a new audience in the South and Southeast.”
The new theaters are located in markets previously unexplored by AMC, including Montgomery, Ala.; Destin, Fla.; and Baton Rouge, La. Each theater is No. 1 in its market; they have an average age of nine years and have experienced upgrades.
