KU Hospital Receives $2 Million Expansion Donation

University of Kansas

The Sunderland Foundation donated $2 million in grant funds to the University of Kansas’ main campus in Kansas City, making it the largest contribution in the foundation’s history. The proposed facility will include neuroscience and surgical oncology services, and it will house 100 new physicians and provide 600 new patient care jobs. The expansion is estimated to cost $250 million.

Sunderland’s contribution is one of the three largest donations received, with the Burns & McDonnel Foundation pledging $2.5 million and the firm’s chairman and chief executive, Greg Gaves, and his wife Deanna, donating an additional $1 million.
