Edward Jones paid $5.5 million to purchase a recently closed Coca-Cola plant on a 10-acre site next to Edward Jones’ complex in Maryland Heights.
Edward Jones has its headquarters in Des Peres, but the Maryland Heights complex is the company’s largest. Managing Partner Jim Weddle said the only immediate plan for the newly acquired site is to demolish the Coke plant. Edward Jones purchased the additional property after Coca-Cola announced it was going to move its main operations to St. Charles and Warrenton.
Maryland Heights officials and Edward Jones have talked about long-range development plans previously, but the company has not committed to a specific project at this time.
