Edward Jones ranks sixth on Fortune’s annual list of the “100 Best Companies to Work For,” leading a group of four Missouri-based companies to make the ranking.

Jones, the St. Louis-based financial services firm, was followed on the list by Kansas City-based engineering firm Burns & McDonnell at 15th; St. Louis IT company World Wide Technology at 28th; and St. Louis-based teddy bear retailer Build-A-Bear workshop at 59th.

Google, the Mountain View, Calif.-based Internet giant, topped the list for a sixth time.

Fortune partnered with Best Places to Work to compile the list. Two-thirds of companies’ ratings were based on a survey — sent to random employees of companies — with questions related to employees’ attitudes about management, overall job satisfaction and camaraderie. The other third was based on questions to employees about pay and benefits, hiring practices, diversity and more.
