A new $23.5 million distribution center for FedEx Corp. has opened in Sauget, Ill.

FedEx Ground operates the suburban St. Louis facility, which specializes in shipping small packages for households and businesses.

The 181,000-square-foot center, built by Edwardsville, Ill.-based Contegra Construction, employs about 175 full- and part-time workers.
