GBT Realty, a real estate developer based in Brentwood, Tenn., has proposed a mixed-use development featuring restaurants, stores, office space and residential units on a 3.3-acre site in Clayton.

Since a similar mixed-use project for the site fell through five years ago, no companies have submitted proposals for the land, which is owned by St. Louis-based Lipton Realty. Currently, the site is occupied by a supermarket that opened in 1951 and closed in 2003.

GBT has the property under contract. Pending government approval, construction would start in 2016 and be completed by 2018.
