KC’s Cactus Software merges with Houston company

Cactus Software, an Overland Park, Kan.-based company that makes credentialing software for the health care industry, has merged with Houston-based health care software company symplr.

The combined company will have around 200 employees and some 3,500 clients across the U.S. and Canada, including hospital system HCA Inc.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The first version of Cactus’ software was introduced in the 1980s. Today, the company is led by CEO Wayne Auer.

symplr is one of fastest-growing technology companies in Houston, according to the Houston Business Journal.
