Anheuser-Busch InBev plans to lay off hundreds of employees in its craft beer and import breweries division as part of a sales restructuring.
The restructuring mainly affects district managers and sales representatives for the High End division.
Under the new structure, a single district manager will handle High End brands as well as A-B InBev’s core brands. The sales representative role for the High End division also will be eliminated.
The exact number of jobs to be cut was not revealed, but an A-B InBev spokesperson said it amounts to less than 2 percent of the brewery’s 18,000 employees on its North American team.
Vice President of Sales Alex Medicis said in a letter to wholesalers that the brewery had made “considerable efforts” to find new roles for those affected by the restructuring.
