Xenometrics LLC, based in suburban Kansas City, has sold to a French company, Citoxlab Group. Financial details were not disclosed.
Both companies are nonclinical contract research organizations. The deal marks the third acquisition in North America, for Citoxlab, which now has seven facilities that employ more than 1,200 people.
Xenometrics CEO Alfred Botchway, a member of the Pipeline entrepreneurial fellowship program, co-founded the company in 2006. It has grown to about 100 employees and specializes in performing studies tied to safety pharmacology, toxicology, pharmacology and pharmacokinetics. For Citoxlab, the Stilwell company plays into its growth strategy and allows it to better serve U.S. clients, Citoxlab CEO Dr. Jean-Francois Le Bigot said in a release.
“We are very confident that joining the Citoxlab Group is a true opportunity for the future development of Xenometrics and its staff,” Botchway said in the release. “We have already defined together several very concrete short- and long-term investments goals to improve and broaden our capabilities and services in Kansas City.”
