The average annual wage for tech jobs in Missouri lags behind the national average by more than $24,000, according to a new report from an IT industry group.
Missouri tech workers made an average of $88,560 in 2017, compared to $112,890 nationally, according to the The Computing Technology Industry Association’s Cyberstates report.
With an average tech wage of $96,370, St. Louis outpaced Kansas City, where tech workers brought in an average of $90,940.
Both of Missouri’s largest markets were far behind coastal tech hubs like San Francisco, where average pay in the industry was $179,620. However, St. Louis and Kansas City were in the middle of the pack relative to other big Midwestern markets.
