A big drop in the number of taxi pickups at Lambert St. Louis International Airport continues in the face of competition from ride-hailing services like Lyft and Uber.
Cab pickups at the airport for the first three months of 2018 were down 32 percent compared to the same period a year ago, recently released statistics show. There were 65,761 pickups through March of this year, compared to 96,868 last year.
That comes on the heels of a 19.5 percent decrease for the final three months of 2017.
However, revenue gains from car rentals and parking more than offset the airport’s loss of revenue resulting from decreased cab fees.
