CHART: When’s the last time July Fourth gas prices in Missouri were this high?

Missourians planning to fuel up for July Fourth travels can expect to pay more this year than they have the last couple of years.

The average gas price in Missouri as of Monday was $2.60 per gallon, according to AAA. That’s substantially more than it was for July Fourth in 2017 or 2016, and three cents more than it was on the holiday in 2015.

If Monday’s price holds through Wednesday, it would rank in the middle of the pack for Independence Day gas prices in Missouri since 2010.

The highest Independence Day gas price in the state in that span was $3.47 in 2014. The lowest was $1.99 last year.

At $2.60 per gallon, Missouri’s gas price Monday was one of the 10 lowest in the U.S., ranking 41st, according to AAA.
