Missouri ranks as one of the top 10 states in the U.S. for using Bitcoin, according to a report from RewardExpert.
RewardExpert, a service that provides information on travel and spending, compiled the ranking by measuring the prevalence of “Bitcoin infrastructure” — that is, Bitcoin ATMs and venues that accept the cryptocurrency — in each state.
Missouri has five Bitcoin ATMs and 63 locations that accept Bitcoin. That means there are 10.31 such locations per million residents in Missouri, which puts the state at No. 15 in the country for Bitcoin-friendly businesses. New Hampshire ranks No. 1 with 46.17 Bitcoin-friendly businesses per million residents.
As adoption of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies continues, cryptocurrency prices are still prone to big fluctuations. In Missouri, the secretary of state’s office warned investors earlier this year about the risk of cryptocurrencies.
