Maryland Heights-based Core & Main buys fourth company in a year

Maryland Heights-based Core & Main closed this week on its acquisition of Denver-based Finish Line Systems, a water meter and readings systems distributor.

That’s the fourth buyout this year for the St. Louis area company, which specializes in water, sewer and fire protection products. Those included the purchasing of California-based waterworks manufacturer DOT Sales Company in July as well as St. Louis Fabrication & Supply in June, according to company press releases. Financial terms for the sales were not disclosed.

The latest deal lets Core & Main expand its water meter business and add sales in territories in eastern Colorado and southern Wyoming, company officials said.

Last year, Core & Main spun out as an independent company from Atlanta-based HD Supply Holdings, an industrial distributor started by The Home Depot.

Currently, the company operates more than 245 branches nationwide.
