Ascension Health Announces Agreement to Buy 36-Hospital System

EDMUNDSON, MO. — Ascension Health Alliance, the parent organization of Ascension Health, today announced an agreement to purchase Marian Health System, which operates 36 hospitals and 150 clinics in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Kansas.

Marian Health would continue to lead three regional health systems that would become part of Ascension Health, according to a memorandum of understanding between the two systems.

“This step is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen Catholic healthcare in the U.S.,” Anthony R. Tersigni, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ascension Health Alliance, said in a written statement.
