KCI, Downtown Airport To Split $12 Million In Federal Grants

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded about $12 million in grants to Kansas City International and the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown airports.

About $5.1 million will go toward a $6.7 million rehabilitation of Taxiway A at KCI, the Kansas City Aviation Department said. At the downtown airport, the FAA awarded a $4.2 million grant toward the $4.7 million third phase of the airport’s taxiway system upgrade.
