Woodruff resigns as Downtown STL CEO

Doug Woodruff resigned Wednesday as CEO of Downtown STL Inc., a group that promotes the interests of businesses in the district. Woodruff will depart at the end of the month and be replaced by chief operating officer Missy Kelley. Read more

Former state Senator Dempsey joins lobbying group

Tom Dempsey, who resigned his position as a state Senator Aug. 7, will join Clayton-based lobbying firm Gate Way Group as its director of business development. Dempsey stressed that his new job will not involve lobbying Missouri legislators and will likely concentrate on work in other states. Read more

Mississippi River bridge on state’s critical list

The Champ Clark Bridge that connects this Pike County town to Illinois tops the statewide list of rural spans that need replacement, says the Missouri Department of Transportation. Read more

Missouri seeks injunction to block WOTUS implementation

Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster wants a judge to block implementation of the new federal Clean Water Rule, sometimes referred to as Waters of the U.S.  Koster says he wants implementation delayed until the court decides whether the rule violates the Constitution and other federal laws, which could take from several months to a couple of years. Springfield call center closes abruptly, citing pizza ordering habits

A Springfield call center that processed orders for Pizza Hut locations around the country closed without advance notice Wednesday, leaving more than 100 employees without jobs. Read more
