Derrick Ho is deputy digital editor of The Straits Times, Singapore’s most-widely read newspaper. In this role, he assists in overseeing the design aspects and technology side of The Straits Times’ digital products, across all platforms. He is responsible for product vision and user experience; conceptualising and executing story packages, including web specials, long-form interactive stories and e-books. He is also heavily involved in the strategic planning and implementation of the newsroom’s latest redesign of its digital products.
Derrick also works closely with the sales and marketing teams to grow the company’s readership and revenues. Last year, Derrick led the launch of The Straits Times’s e-books app and shaped the look of The Straits Times’ latest interactive magazine, The Life. Derrick graduated with a masters in journalism from the University of Missouri in 2012 and has written for CNN.com and The Associated Press.
