Missouri’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 3.3% in July for the fifth month in a row, the Missouri Department of Economic Development announced Wednesday.

The state economy has added 34,700 non-farm jobs in the last year, including 12,200 in health care and social assistance; 5,500 in accommodation and food services; and 3,900 in professional, scientific and technical services.

The biggest job losses by sector since July 2019 have been in wholesale trade (1,700), construction (1,200) and administrative and support services (900).

The national unemployment rate for July was 3.7%, meaning that Missouri has had an unemployment rate at or below the national level for 61 consecutive months, dating back to July 2014.
