All of Missouri’s metro areas experienced job growth from July 2018 to July 2019, according to data released in late August by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
St. Louis saw the greatest percentage growth at 1.8%, while Columbia saw the lowest at 0.4%. Springfield, Joplin and Kansas City all also saw growth of over 1%.
Raw employment growth ranged from 400 new jobs in Columbia and Cape Girardeau to 17,500 in Kansas City and 25,500 in St. Louis.
Numbers are not seasonally adjusted and represent nonfarm payroll employment.
