Two Missouri-based companies climbed more than 40 positions in this year’s Fortune 500 as 10 companies in total made the magazine’s annual list of the largest U.S. companies.

Springfield-based auto parts retailer O’Reilly Automotive moved 46 spots up the list and is now ranked No. 268. Jones Financial, the St. Louis-based parent company of financial services firm Edward Jones, advanced 41 spots, reaching No. 295.

Another company ascending the list was Clayton-based health insurance provider Centene. It is ranked No. 24 after advancing 18 spots from its 2020 ranking. Centene remains the highest-ranked Missouri company on the list.
