Study: Sprint Center Had $213 Million Impact On KC In First Five Years

The Sprint Center has released a study that suggests the downtown Kansas City arena is on sound financial footing, standing in contrast to the Power & Light District across the street.

Anschutz Entertainment Group, the operator of the Sprint Center, commissioned an economic impact study that showed the facility contributed $213.3 million to the city economy, another $202.7 million to the broader metropolitan economy and an additional $227.1 million to the state of Missouri in its first five years. The tax revenues approved by voters have been covering the Center’s debt and it has actually yielded $7 million to the city through a profit-sharing agreement with AEG.
