Kansas May Reject Terms Of Economic Development Border War Truce

The Missouri effort to ban state incentives for companies moving between four border counties in Missouri and four in Kansas calls for enactment of similar legislation in Kansas before it goes into effect. But that doesn’t appear likely based on statements emanating this week from the Kansas Border Challenge Advisory Committee, which has been advising Kansas Secretary of Commerce Pat George on the truce issue.

A truce bill sponsored by state Sen. Ryan Silvey, R-Kansas City has passed by the Missouri House and Senate.
