Nixon Signs Business ‘Border War’ Truce Bill

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon went to Kansas City to sign a recently passed bill aimed at ending the state’s longstanding economic development border war with Kansas. The bill calls for banning state incentives for companies moving between four border counties in Missouri and four in Kansas.

But the bill won’t be enacted unless and until Kansas passes a similar bill legislatively or by executive order. And officials on the Kansas side have given no indication that they’re on board with Missouri’s proposed truce.
