Missouri Ranks Low In Study Of Business-Friendly Attributes

Missouri was the 26th most friendly state for small business, 10 states behind Kansas, and Kansas City was in the top half of the city rankings while St. Louis was in the bottom half, according to a study by Thumbtack.com in partnership with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

The annual, nationwide study ranked data from 38 states and 82 metro areas against one another along a variety of metrics, including ease of starting a business, regulations and tax code. Missouri stood out for its zoning laws, favorable tax burden and environmental regulations, but it had one of the worst grades in the country for its training and networking.
