Kansas City Chamber forecast calls for job growth in area

Economic growth in the Kansas City area will soon translate into job growth in the region, according to a forecast released Tuesday by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.

Frank Lenk, director of research services at the Mid-America Regional Council, forecasts that Kansas City employers will have created 16,500 new jobs by the end of 2014. Lenk considers this significant growth compared to the 8, 500 jobs that were gained in 2013.

Despite this growth, Kansas City still lags behind the rest of the nation in job growth.
