Missouri foreclosures dip in September, third quarter

New foreclosure cases in Missouri declined sharply in the third quarter and in September from last year, according to a report from RealtyTrac Inc.

Foreclosure actions in the third quarter dropped 45.5 percent to 2,035, the California-based real estate research services company reported. The number of September foreclosures — 568 — was down 52 percent from the same month in 2013.

Nationwide, foreclosure activity increased 0.42 percent in the third quarter. That’s the first quarterly uptick since the third quarter of 2011. September actions were down 16 percent.
