In new year, Ferguson seeks answers to lingering uncertainty

Before racial unrest seized Ferguson in August, the St. Louis suburb showed signs of resurgence. Several new restaurants and small businesses had popped up in a redeveloped downtown district. A community center, new fire station and remodeled police department had all opened.

But two rounds of rioting, following the Aug. 9 shooting death of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown and the November decision by a grand jury not to indict police officer Darren Wilson in Brown’s death, left the city facing considerable uncertainty.

Some expect 2015 to bring clarity and answers.
