Nixon: No deals, but ‘productive meetings’ so far in Europe

A Missouri trade delegation led by Gov. Jay Nixon and leadership from the Missouri House and Senate has held lots of meetings but hasn’t struck any deals yet, according to a progress report delivered Wednesday by the governor.

Nixon said he had a trio of priorities for the trip: thanking companies already trading with Missouri; letting the state’s business leaders meet with their customers; and finding ways to expand Missouri’s trade market in Europe.

Nixon said during the first leg of the mission, which will eventually cover Germany, Spain and Italy, the delegation “held a number of productive meetings with global manufacturers that have or may be considering investments in Missouri.”
