Kansas scores latest Border War tally with WireCo WorldGroup move

Another corporate headquarters is relocating to the Kansas side of the Kansas City area from the area near Kansas City International Airport.

WireCo WorldGroup, which makes and distributes synthetic rope and wire products, will bring about 185 jobs to its new headquarters in Prairie Village, Kan. The company can receive up to $8.5 million in incentives for the jobs through Kansas’ Promoting Employment Across Kansas, or PEAK, program.

WireCo, which ranks 18th in the Kansas City Business Journal’s list of top Kansas City-area companies by revenue, posted $822 million in revenue in 2013.
