A new $5 million state grant seeks to help low-income and minority residents of north St. Louis find jobs.

Called Career Pathways Bridge, the program aims to help 3,000 people find work and aid another 3,400 with job training.

The grant, announced by Gov. Jay Nixon, is separate from a grant the area won under the White House Promise Zone initiative through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
