The Week Ahead: Boeing and DST earnings, St. Louis Fashion Week kickoff

Here’s a look at some of the stories Missouri Business Alert is tracking this week:

Monday

The National Association of Homebuilders releases its Housing Market Index, which is designed to gauge the condition of the single-family housing market. The index has been running at 10-year highs, and this month’s results are expected to remain steady, Bloomberg reports.

Tuesday

The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Energy & Environment Policy Forum and reception. The event features leaders from the energy sector looking at the future of the local energy industry.

Wednesday

Boeing is slated to release quarterly results. The aviation and aerospace company, which has its defense unit in St. Louis, is expected to post earnings per share of $2.22, Yahoo Finance reports.

Sigma-Aldrich is also scheduled to report earnings. The average analyst estimate for the St. Louis-based life science technology company calls for EPS of $1.06, which would match the company’s EPS for the same quarter last year, according to Yahoo Finance.

The British Consulate in Chicago will stage a five-day pop-up consulate in Kansas City beginning Wednesday.

Thursday

DST Systems Inc. and Euronet Worldwide Inc., both based in the Kansas City area, and Enterprise Financial Services Corp., which has its headquarters in Clayton, will report quarterly earnings on one of the busier days of the fall earnings season so far for local companies.

St. Louis Fashion Week officially gets underway with a kickoff party. Fashion Week, which puts a spotlight on both local and national designers, continues with a variety of shows and events the first week of November.

Friday

Hot air balloon enthusiasts from around the country will descend on the Kansas City area for the sixth annual Great Midwest Balloon Fest. The event runs Friday evening and Saturday.
