CHART: Tracking the tariffs issued by top US trading partners

President Donald Trump and European Union Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker announced Wednesday that they had reached a breakthrough in negotiations between the two trading partners, avoiding new tariffs for now and potentially paving the way to “zero tariffs, zero non-tariff barriers, and zero subsidies on non-auto industrial goods” in the future, according to Trump.

It would mark a reversal of course for the U.S., which since January has engaged in an escalating series of tariffs and tariff threats with its biggest trade partners: the EU, China, Canada, and Mexico.

Here’s a look at the timing and amount of retaliatory tariffs on U.S. products that have been enacted to date by those four trading partners.
