Elevator Pitch: Columbia’s Good Food Co. serves up locally sourced sweets

Good Food Co. has served up an assortment of brownies, cakes, cookies, pies, shortbreads, tartlets, trifles and torts since it opened in Columbia’s North Village Arts District in January.

Owner Jill Rostine runs a bakery on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, a dessert bar on weekend nights, and also offers catering and wholesale options.

Good Food Co. puts an emphasis on quality ingredients that are locally sourced.

“We bring in all the best ingredients from the farmers market and as much local products as possible,” Rostine said.

The pitch:

The business: Good Food Co. is a scratch baking operation where everything is made in-house by a small group of women. The bakery sources as many of its ingredients as possible from local farmers and producers.
