On Monday, Mayor Sly James and members of the business community unveiled their new effort to attract information technology startup companies during a rooftop ceremony in the Crossroads Arts District.
Launch KC is aimed at addressing some key needs of fledgling IT companies so Kansas City can become, as James suggested, “the new place for startups in this country.”
Cheap office space? Five companies and Union Station have lined up with offers of free or “very affordable” office space for startups in the Crossroads district, the West Bottoms and downtown. The city’s Aviation Department is also offering space at Kansas City International Airport. Read more on Kansas City Star.
