‘Business ownership is scary’: Amanda Quick opened a coworking space to offer entrepreneurs support

Amanda Quick founded The Hatchery, a Columbia-based coworking space offering optional childcare, to help small business owners collaborate and support one another.

“Business ownership is scary,” Quick said. “It’s very overwhelming. And it tends to be lonely. So, the whole point of (The Hatchery) really came from being able to collaborate with other people and having other people around you.”

The Hatchery debuted in Columbia in July 2017. This January, The Hatchery opened a second Columbia location.

Now, Quick provides entrepreneurship classes and a support network that goes “beyond just a desk space.”
