The widget gives in-depth analysis looking at how their business stacks up as far as year started, revenue, employees and salary to other businesses in the county, state and nation.
The SizeUp application also has a mapping tool to show how many businesses are in the same industry and in the same area. For instance, a search of physical fitness centers turned up 3 results in downtown Columbia. It only shows five results at a time on the map, so it is a little difficult to get a full picture of competitors in the city if there are more than 15 or 20.
Maybe the most helpful part of the map is that it shows what competitors are nearby and lists their phone numbers, websites (if available) and how long they have been in business.
SizeUp donated the license to the SBA, so the app is free of charge. The Springfield News-Leader reported, though, that the SBA will only have the license for a year.
