KC Company Illustrates Drop in Start-up Hiring

Kansas City tech company Leap2, which has 10,000 users but just one employee, is an example of a downward employment trend by start-ups nationwide, The New York Times reports.

A study by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation shows that the typical new business had 7.7 employees in 1999. That dropped to 4.7 in 2011.
