A trio of Missourians and three Kansans from the Kansas City area rank among the richest people in the world, according to Forbes’ latest list of the world’s billionaires.
Jack Taylor, 90, and his family came in at No. 94 with a net worth of $11 billion. A St. Louis resident, Taylor made his wealth as founder of Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
Stanley Kroenke of Columbia, Mo. ranked No. 248 with a net worth of $5 billion. At age 65, he owns a number of professional sporting teams, including the Denver Nuggets, the Colorado Avalanche, the St. Louis Rams and English soccer club Arsenal.
Garmin chairman Min Kao ($2.1 billion) and chairman emeritus Gary Burrell ($1.3 billion) ranked No. 704 and No. 1,107, respectively. Neal Patterson, the CEO and chairman of Cerner and co-owner of Sporting Kansas City, ranked No. 1,031 on the list with a net worth of $1.4 billion. Donald Hall, the chairman of Hallmark Cards, made the list at No. 1,342, with a net worth of $1 billion.
